Understanding Adair County Releases
“Released” describes the end of one custodian’s control, not always the end of all custody. Someone may leave Adair County Jail on bond, personal recognizance, time served, sentence completion, dismissal, or another court-authorized disposition. That person may return to the community. A movement to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, another county, a tribal or federal authority, a hospital, or immigration custody also ends the Adair jail stay, but it is a transfer. The receiving agency then controls the next status. This distinction is the first fact to establish in any Adair County released inmate search.
A live roster, when one exists, is designed to show current custody. Adair County has no verified working official jail roster or release archive. Even with a roster, a person normally disappears after departure. Absence alone cannot identify the exit time, disposition, or destination. The useful proof is an existing jail movement or booking/release record linked to the correct booking. A court order can explain the legal reason, while the jail record supplies the physical exit and any receiving agency.
A missing name does not prove community release. Confirm the disposition with Adair County Jail and identify any receiving custodian.
Adair County Release Types
Each disposition leads to a different next step. Bond or recognizance can permit release while the criminal case continues. Time served credits confinement already completed toward the sentence. Dismissal ends the identified charge but may not clear another hold. Parole ends prison confinement conditionally, while full discharge ends ODOC jurisdiction on the sentence. Transfer keeps the person in another authority’s custody.
| Disposition | What it means | Where to verify next |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or recognizance | Release under court authority while a case may remain open | Jail release sheet and the matching court docket |
| Time served or sentence complete | County confinement requirement has been satisfied | Jail movement record and judgment |
| Dismissal or court order | The identified matter no longer authorizes that hold | Filed order plus actual jail exit record |
| Parole or supervised placement | Prison confinement ended, but ODOC jurisdiction continues | ODOC profile, release document, and supervision office |
| Transfer | Adair custody ended and another custodian took control | Receiving agency’s locator or records office |
Dates must keep their labels. An arrest date, bond posting, release order, actual jail exit, ODOC reception, parole vote, projected date, and full discharge can all fall on different days. A docket event is not automatically the doors-out time. When another hold exists, staff may have authority to release on one case but still be required to deliver the person elsewhere.
Note: Label every date by event and custodian so a court authorization is not mistaken for the completed jail movement.
Adair County Release Record Fields
No public Adair form or data dictionary was found. A focused request should ask for the existing booking/release sheet and the specific fields the jail maintains. Do not ask the agency to create a new report. The full name, date range, case number, or booking number helps separate repeat bookings and people with similar names.
| Requested field | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Name and booking number | The person and the exact jail stay |
| Admission date and time | When the Adair booking began |
| Arresting agency and charges | Which agency and case should be cross-checked |
| Actual release date and time | When physical Adair custody ended |
| Release disposition or type | Bond, time served, court order, transfer, or another maintained label |
| Release authority | The order or basis permitting the movement |
| Receiving agency and destination | Whether custody continued after departure |
| Booking photograph | The image tied to that booking, if public and maintained |
The sheriff record and court record answer different questions. A judge may set bond, dismiss a case, or impose time served. Jail staff must receive and process that authority, check other holds, and record the movement. A small gap between court action and exit can be valid. For durable proof, preserve both records rather than forcing one source to answer the other source’s role.
Request Adair County Release Records
Address the request to the records custodian for the Adair County Sheriff’s Office or Jail. No official online request form, records email, local fee schedule, fixed response time, or public office hours were verified. Start by calling the jail, then ask how the custodian accepts a written request. A narrow request is easier to locate and less likely to be confused with a demand for a custom countywide list.
- Call Adair County Jail at 918-696-2106. Ask whether the named person is held, left custody, or transferred.
- Give the full legal name, aliases, date of birth if known, arrest date range, case number, and booking number.
- Request the existing booking/release sheet, actual exit timestamp, disposition, release authority, receiving agency, and booking photo if maintained and public.
- Ask for an estimate before copies are made and request an electronic format when available.
- If material is withheld, ask for the statutory basis and whether public portions can be separated and released.

Hours for records requests: not verified
Oklahoma’s Open Records Act requires prompt, reasonable access, but it sets no universal response deadline. Volume, redaction, complexity, and essential office work affect timing. Under 51 O.S. §24A.5, an agency may charge reasonable direct copy or mechanical costs. Search fees apply only on narrower statutory grounds, and §24A.18 does not require an agency to create a record it does not keep. Since no Adair schedule was found, request an estimate instead of importing another county’s fee.
The Oklahoma Attorney General open-records hub explains the request framework. The screenshot below shows that state guidance page. It is a starting point for framing an Adair County release-record request, not a county submission form.
Send the actual request to the Adair custodian. The Attorney General’s Public Access Counselor is a later guidance or complaint route when ordinary clarification does not resolve an access issue.
Note: Ask for an existing named record and a cost estimate, since no local Adair fee schedule or response promise was verified.
Who Runs Adair County Jail?
Adair County’s jail structure is locally distinctive. State audits describe a component-unit trust created in 1996 to establish and maintain the county detention system. Trustees include the sheriff, the county commissioners’ chair, and appointed members. The FY2024 Jail Trust audit and the 2019 governance audit document this structure.
The trust arrangement does not change the practical route for a named custody question. Contact Adair County Jail at the official Stilwell number. Ask for the maintained release or transfer record. Governance documents can explain who oversees the detention operation, but they are not rosters and do not identify whether a person walked free or moved to another custodian.
Find Adair County Released Inmates
Begin with a short identity and jurisdiction fact sheet. Include full legal name and aliases, date of birth or age, arrest date, arresting agency, case number, booking number, and last known facility. Adair County, Missouri sources often appear in search results. Kirksville contacts, 660 telephone numbers, and Missouri-branded sheriff pages do not belong to this Oklahoma search. Confirm Stilwell, Oklahoma and a 918 area code before relying on a local contact.
- Ask Adair County Jail whether the person is currently held, released, or transferred. Request the disposition and actual movement record.
- Search the Adair District Court docket for the matching case and legal event. Check a municipal clerk when the matter arose under a city ordinance.
- Use OK Offender Lookup only when an Oklahoma state sentence or ODOC transfer is involved.
- Check VINELink for a reported custody change and preserve the reporting agency and exact status wording.
- Use BOP or ICE only when the facts point to federal prison or immigration custody.
- Record what each source proves, then resolve any conflict with the originating agency’s written record.
Repeat bookings need booking-level conclusions. A person can leave one Adair stay, return on another matter, or remain held under a second jurisdiction. A current answer cannot erase an earlier release. Request each admission and release pair separately, then connect each pair to the correct case.
Note: Use the booking number and case number together whenever the same person has more than one Adair County jail stay.
Adair Release Dates Across Courts
Adair release research crosses more than one court system. The OSCN Adair County search covers district cases. It can show bond orders, appearances, pleas, judgment, sentence, jail credit, revocation activity, dismissal, and case closure. Municipal ordinance cases in Stilwell, Watts, or Westville may instead require the relevant municipal clerk. Tribal and federal matters use their own courts.
Use the court record to identify legal authority, not the precise physical exit. The Adair County Court Clerk supplies official or certified court copies. OSCN warns that its display is not the official record. The manifest image below shows the Adair search entry point, where a case number or party information can narrow the correct docket.
A bond entry can precede jail processing, and a case marked closed does not prove custody ended at that moment. Pair the filed order with the jail’s actual movement record.
Adair Release Dates Need Proof
Open Justice Oklahoma excluded Adair County from one bail analysis because bond amounts for people who did not post bond were unavailable. Its methodology also explains that some booking or release dates were inferred from docket clues. That finding is a direct warning against false precision. A docket-derived date may be a useful lead, yet it must not be published as an exact jail exit without the jail’s movement data.
Keep authorization and execution separate. A court order proves what the judge authorized. The Adair County release record proves when jail staff completed the movement and whether a receiving agency took custody. When those dates differ, preserve both labels. Do not “correct” one date by silently substituting the other.
Adair Released Inmate ODOC Search
OK Offender Lookup covers ODOC incarceration and supervision, not every person booked at Adair County Jail. A person who bonded out locally, served county time, or had a charge dismissed may never appear. Someone transferred from the jail into state custody may appear after ODOC reception. The portal is an identification and navigation tool because ODOC says its display is abbreviated and not an exact statement of the offense, sentence, or time to be served.
| Search or profile item | How to use it |
|---|---|
| ODOC number | Best way to avoid same-name matches |
| Name and aliases | Use full spelling, suffixes, and known variations |
| Age or birth information | Compare identity, never rely on name alone |
| Photograph | Check the person, while noting images can change |
| Status and location | Distinguish prison custody, community supervision, and discharge |
| Projected Release Date | Treat as a tentative estimate, not proof of release |
Search by ODOC number when possible, open the candidate record, and compare the photo and identifiers. Read status, location, sentence entries, and any projected information together. A community status can show physical prison release while ODOC jurisdiction continues. Full discharge is different. For formal proof, request the public Certificate of Release, discharge record, or Notice of Inmate Status Change through ODOC Legal Services or its open-records form.
Note: A county-only detainee may never appear in OK Offender Lookup, even after a valid Adair County release.
Adair Recent Release Search Limits
No working official Adair 24-hour list, 72-hour list, jail roster, release-date booking view, archive, or sheriff mobile app was verified. The former Oklahoma Sheriffs Association Adair page returned 404, and no official replacement feed was found. The sheriff’s social page contains selective communication, not a complete release database. The Released Last 24 Hours path and the three-day record path therefore use direct jail confirmation, a named records request, VINELink, and court corroboration.
Do not construct a rolling list from docket dates. Court entries may show that bond was posted or release was authorized, but another hold or processing step can follow. Call with the full name and booking date, ask whether the person left or transferred, and seek the actual timestamp and disposition. A no-result from the dead page establishes nothing about a named person.
ODIS Is Not Release Search
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation documents an Adair County Sheriff ODIS grant or agreement. ODIS is an internal agency records-management path. It is not a public inmate locator, public roster, or 24-hour release feed. The distinction matters because a web search can expose the program name without exposing any public record-search function.
The OSBI ODIS transparency statement supports a narrower conclusion: the agency may maintain data that can be sought from its custodian under applicable records law. Ask for the existing named booking/release record. Do not tell the custodian to query an internal system in a particular way, and do not imply that an internal grant created a public portal.
Adair Release Supervision Records
Leaving confinement does not always end a sentence. Parole is conditional release from prison while the sentence and ODOC supervision continue. Probation is court-ordered community supervision, often instead of or after confinement. Discharge generally means ODOC jurisdiction on the sentence has ended. An absconder has evaded supervision and has not successfully completed it.
- Parole
- Conditional prison release for the remaining term, supervised by ODOC.
- Probation
- Court-ordered supervision in the community.
- Discharge
- The end of ODOC jurisdiction on the sentence.
- Time served
- Credit recognizing that the required confinement has already been completed.
The Tahlequah Probation and Parole Office serves Adair County. Search the ODOC record first, then verify office routing when supervision applies. The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board considers parole but does not supervise parolees. A Board docket shows scheduled consideration, and a result shows Board action. Neither one proves the later physical prison exit.
Identity Records After Oklahoma Discharge
ODOC policy provides a useful state-release detail that does not apply automatically to the county jail. Original identity documents held in an ODOC legal file are returned at discharge. The listed records can include a birth certificate, Social Security card, state identification or driver license, passport, military record, Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood, tribal photo identification, and qualifying school identification.
A former offender may also ask ODOC Closed Records to review information and challenge an error. Policy states that review should be available within 30 days. If a disputed fact came from the sentencing court, the court is the source that must address its own order. This correction path concerns record accuracy and does not alter a valid sentence or bypass a sealing rule.
Adair Release Alerts and Transfers
VINELink provides Oklahoma custody information and alerts reported by participating sources. Search by name or offender ID, compare identifiers, and read both the status and reporting facility. Registration can use app, phone, email, text, or TTY delivery. A VINE release report belongs to that source agency. It does not rule out a transfer, another hold, or supervision. Separate written Pardon and Parole Board notice is needed for parole consideration because VINE does not supply parole notification.
For federal prison, use the BOP inmate locator. A “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” result only says BOP does not currently hold the person. For immigration custody, the ICE locator covers current detainees and persons released from ICE custody within the prior 60 days. An Adair jail movement to ODOC, BOP, USMS, ICE, Cherokee Nation, or another county is a change of custodian, not proof of community release.
Sealed Adair Release Records
Public access can change after an Oklahoma expungement. OSBI explains that a Section 18 expungement can seal the entire arrest record from ordinary public access. ODOC seals the assigned number when a qualifying court order applies and retains the file in Closed Records. A record or image that once appeared publicly may therefore disappear because the legal access status changed, not because the earlier custody never happened.
Deferred-sentence relief, a pardon, and a full Section 18 arrest-record expungement are not interchangeable. Juvenile material is governed by separate confidentiality rules under 10A O.S. §2-6-102. Do not infer adult release facts from a missing juvenile or sealed result. The OSBI expungement guidance explains the public-access effect, while the court file and current statutes control a specific case.
Note: A missing result can reflect lawful sealing or limited system coverage, not proof that the earlier custody never occurred.
Where Adair Release Records Appear
Choose the source by custodian and event. No single search spans county jail, state prison, local courts, federal prison, immigration custody, and post-release supervision.
| Source | Best use | Main limit |
|---|---|---|
| Adair County Jail record | Actual county exit, disposition, and transfer destination | No verified public roster or archive |
| OSCN or municipal court | Bond, order, judgment, sentence, dismissal | Not the exact physical exit time |
| OK Offender Lookup | ODOC custody, supervision, and projected information | Does not include every county-only booking |
| VINELink | Reported custody status and change alerts | Not a permanent release certificate or parole notice |
| BOP or ICE locator | Federal prison or recent ICE status | Each covers only its own custody system |
Close the search with a short evidence statement: what the jail said, what the court ordered, what a notification reported, and whether another custodian received the person. If sources conflict, keep the conflict visible and request the originating record. That result is more accurate than treating an empty search screen as proof.
Adair County Release Facility
Adair County Jail is the only verified detention facility physically in the county that warrants a facility page. Stilwell, Westville, and Watts have police departments and municipal courts, but no separate operating municipal jail was confirmed. Ask an arresting department whether a person was cited and released, briefly held, or booked into the county jail.
No ODOC prison, BOP institution, or ICE detention center was verified in Adair County. Cherokee Nation Criminal Justice Services has a Stilwell presence, but that directory does not establish a tribal detention facility. Follow a transfer by the receiving agency named on the movement record, not by geography or assumption.
